The spiritual sect Brahma Kumaris (children of Brahma) preach that all religions reach for the same goal, but label it differently. Based at about 5000 centres around the world they teach raja yoga - meditation that directs people to knowledge of an inner light, the "divine spark" or soul, that is part of, and one with, the all-encompassing soul, Shiva.

Belief in the five evils - anger, ego, attachment, greed and lust - is shared with Buddhism and Hinduism, with the ultimate goal being their elimination, and the advent of a Golden Age of peace, prosperity and purity.

The Brahma Kumaris Spiritual University at Om Shanti Bhawan to the north of Nakki Lake (phone02974/38268) aims to foster awareness, tolerance, love and "God-consciousness" in a meditative atmosphere where smoking, alcohol, meat and sex are avoided. Classes range from three-day raja yoga camps to advanced six-month courses; lectures are translated into eighteen languages.

The Brahma Kumaris Museum by the private bus stand between the polo ground and the lake (daily 8am-8pm; free) holds daily meditation classes.
