One efficient, though somewhat rushed, way to see Jaipur's main attractions is on a guided tour.

Half-day tours, starting from the railway station and the RTDC Tourist Hotel on MI Road, take in Hawa Mahal, the Observatory, the City Palace and Museum, Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort and the Central Museum (daily 8am, 11.30am & 1.30pm; 5hr, book the day before; Rs75).

The full-day tour (daily 9.30am-5.30pm; Rs125, Rs150 a/c) also includes the Central Museum, Birla Mandir and Gaitor - getting to the fort alone costs more than the tour itself, unless you walk.

ITDC Ashok Travels and Tours at the gates of the Khasa Kothi hotel offer full-day tours (daily 9.30am-5.30pm; Rs125, Rs150 a/c) which also take in Amber.
