Some of the most
outstanding murals and Hindu monuments in the region are scattered across three
small towns in the far north and west of Shekhawati: Mahansar, Ramgarh and
Lakshmangarh.
Of these, only Mahansar has any accommodation (an old fort that's been converted
into a characterful, and relatively inexpensive, heritage hotel), but you can
reach the other two easily enough on day-trips from Fatehpur.
