Sawai Madhopur
Lodge , Ranthambore Road. Stylish 1930s hunting lodge, formerly belonging to
Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II but now run as a luxury heritage hotel by the Taj
Group. Elegant lawns and tasteful period decor, and what must be the most
expensive camping accommodation in India. Prices start at $165 for double rooms,
or $123 for tents (includes full board). Rs2500 and upwards. Phone 07462/20541,
fax 20718 |
Vishal , main road, market area, about 500m northeast of the railway station phone 07462/20504. The most popular option among foreign backpackers: charmless, but acceptably clean, and the rates are low. If it's full, try the less salubrious Swagat two doors down. In both, the upstairs rooms are by far the best. Rs100-200. Back
