Ten luxury tents (each with own toilet and running hot water), camp fires in the evening, and excellent Rajasthani food, made with organic vegetables from surrounding farms. Safaris and trips to local development projects optional. Full board at around Rs7000 per person. Rs2500 and upwards.

Hidden down a dirt track in shady woodland, and the most secluded of the upscale resorts, although poor value for money at $115 per head. The most popular option among foreign backpackers: charmless, but acceptably clean, and the rates are low. If it's full, try the less salubrious Swagat two doors down.
